Summer Lyric Theatre at Tulane presents
MY FAIR LADY
Book & Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner
Music by Frederick Loewe
Adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion”
My Fair Lady is the timeless story of a Linguistics Professor, Henry Higgins, who encounters a cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle. Upon hearing her “crooning like a bilious pigeon,” Higgins makes a wager with his friend, Col. Pickering, that he can transform the waifish street urchin into a lady of high society. With an endearing score including “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and “The Rain In Spain”, My Fair Lady is sure to win the hearts of audience members of all ages.
Summer Lyric Theatre opens its Season of Transformation and Triumph with Lerner & Loewe’s classic My Fair Lady. This production will be directed by Artistic Director Michael E. McKelvey and choreographed by Diane Lala. The widely requested show will feature SLT favorites Chris Carey (Prof. Henry Higgins), Sean Patterson (Col. Pickering), Bob Edes Jr. (Alfred P. Doolittle) and introduce Jackie Vanderbeck as Eliza Doolitte.
